Differentiation
through discipline.

For over 23 years, Pomona’s secondaries strategy has balanced discipline with differentiation. The results: over $5.8 billion in committed capital across nine flagship secondary funds. We have purchased over $4.4 billion in secondary interests in over 500 funds.

Primary Investments

Selecting top performers
for diverse portfolios

Pomona’s primary investment activity that began in 1998 evolved from our perspective as secondary purchasers. We have $2.8 billion in committed capital across various investment mandates with a specific focus on separate accounts. Our strategy is driven by individual company analysis to identify those groups that have historically generated consistent attractive returns. By leveraging our secondary relationships with leading managers, we seek to gain access, insight and capacity to those partnerships. We make commitments to buyout, venture capital and mezzanine funds located in the U.S., Europe and Asia and tailor our primary investing programs to investors’ specific goals.

Co-Investments

Deep partnerships and experience

Pomona’s co-investment business is built on the combined experience and relationships we have developed as secondary purchasers and primary investors over the last two decades, and today we have advised on $200 million in committed capital in co-investments. Investing directly into companies alongside private equity managers, we choose from a broad range of leading buyout funds in the U.S., Europe and Asia in an effort to build a unique, diversified portfolio, deploying our due-diligence approach based on company-level analysis and the direct investing background of our investment professionals.
